Iraq

Turki Abdul Ameer, born in 1941 in Maysan Governorate, Iraq, is a distinguished artist known for his contributions to the Iraqi art scene. He completed his primary and secondary education in Iraq before graduating with a diploma from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1962. Furthering his studies, he obtained a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome between 1975 and 1979. Throughout his career, Abdul Ameer has participated in numerous exhibitions both within Iraq and internationally. His first group exhibition was in Kut, Iraq, in 1958. He has showcased his work in various countries, including Turkey, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Notably, he held his first solo exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad in 1979. His works are part of several museum collections, including the Iraqi Museum.
