Work with us

Currently looking for writers, journalists, and contributors building the regional art conversation with us.

Build something for the region, with us.

Artsamy is the regional fine-art platform for the Middle East and North Africa, and we are still in the early years of building it. Most of the work — the editorial, the gallery and museum profiles, the artist features, the events coverage, the critic essays — depends on the writers and contributors we work with.

This page lists the kinds of people we are actively looking to bring in right now. None of these are full-time roles. Most are paid commissions, piece by piece or project by project, with the freedom that comes with that. If your work fits with how we write and what we cover, we would like to hear from you.

Who we're looking for right now.

Art writers and journalists. Profile pieces on regional artists, gallery and event coverage, market notes, longer features and essays. We commission across six editorial categories — artist features, collection stories, regional context, market analysis, gallery and event coverage, and critic essays — and we pay per piece. New writers receive a copy of the Contributor Submissions Manual on first commission; it covers rates, deadlines, voice, credit, and editing process.

Critics and essayists. For the longer-form work — essays on regional movements, biennale and fair criticism, market analysis with a point of view, the writing that gets read rather than skimmed. If you write with a position and a voice, we have a home for it.

Translators (Arabic ↔ English). From Phase 2 onward Artsamy publishes editorial in both English and Arabic. We are beginning to identify translators with experience in art and cultural writing for ongoing commissions. If translation interests you, we'd like to be in touch now.

Photographers covering shows and openings. Selectively, across the region. We commission photographers to document gallery openings, fair coverage, artist studios, and editorial sets.

Real credit

Bylines on every piece. Author profiles on the platform — a page of your own, the archive of everything you've written for us, links to your wider work. We don't ghostwrite.

Editorial freedom, within voice

A clear brief, a real editor, generous deadlines where the piece requires it. The voice is confident, direct, taste-led, no apology. We protect that voice, but the angle, the argument, and the eye are yours.
