Enrico Baj (1924–2003) was an influential Italian artist known for his innovative approach to painting, collage, and mixed media. Born in Milan, Baj emerged as a leading figure in the postwar European avant-garde, co-founding the Nuclear Art movement in 1951 alongside Sergio Dangelo. His work is characterized by a playful yet critical engagement with political and social themes, often employing unconventional materials such as felt, buttons, and embroidery to create satirical portraits and fantastical compositions.
