Adel Moustafa

Egypt

Adel Moustafa, born on March 17, 1980, in Kafr El-Shaikh, Egypt, is a distinguished contemporary painter. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Painting from Alexandria University's Faculty of Fine Arts, followed by a Master's degree in 2009 and a Ph.D. in 2015, with a dissertation titled "Utilizing Photographic Images in Contemporary Egyptian Painting." Currently, he serves as a lecturer in the Painting Department at the same institution. ([fineart.gov.eg](https://www.fineart.gov.eg/Arb/CV/CV.asp?IDS=3095&utm_source=openai))

Moustafa's artistic journey is marked by a series of thematic exhibitions that delve into imaginative realms. His 2018 exhibition, "The Road," showcased dreamlike landscapes devoid of human presence, emphasizing serene roads and vibrant sunsets. In 2021, "Alexandria and Valentine's Day" presented romanticized cityscapes, capturing intimate moments within the urban environment. His 2023 exhibition, "Sea of Silver," transported viewers to a fantastical seaside world, featuring wooden dolls in traditional Egyptian attire amidst floral and aquatic settings. These exhibitions were prominently held at the Zamalek Art Gallery in Cairo. Beyond his exhibitions, Moustafa has actively participated in international art events, including the Mediterranean Youth Biennale in Italy (2008), the Contemporary Egyptian Art Exhibition in India (2008), and the Sana'a International Meeting for Plastic Art in Yemen (2010). He has also coordinated significant art festivals, such as the Hurghada International Art Symposium and the Sharm El-Sheikh International Art Festival. His contributions to the art world have been recognized with awards, including the first prize in painting at Alexandria University's "Arts with No Limits" exhibition in 1999.
