He was nominated by Hafidh Al-Droubi to teach art at the Faculty of Science at the University of Baghdad and served as the head of the Advertisement Department in the Department of Resorts and Tourism at the Iraqi Tourism Ministry for ten years. Shakir was also a member of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate and the Fine Artists Association. ([iwanart.com](https://iwanart.com/node/260?utm_source=openai))
