Will Gorlitz, born in Buenos Aires in 1952, is a Canadian painter renowned for his representational works that intertwine personal experience with broader cultural themes. After immigrating to Canada at the age of six, he pursued art studies at the University of Manitoba and the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, completing his BFA in 1977. Gorlitz has been a significant figure in the Canadian art scene since the early 1980s, with his work characterized by a painterly approach that emphasizes visual engagement and a critical dialogue with media technologies.
