Walaa Abo Alenin

Egypt

Walaa Abo Alenin is an Egyptian visual artist born in 1996, specializing in painting. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University, she focuses on depicting women, capturing their features and emotions through carefully chosen colors and compositions. Her work often incorporates symbols like the cow, representing fertility and joy from ancient Egyptian heritage, and scenes from traditional festivals, reflecting her fascination with vibrant colors and spiritual atmospheres.

In June 2025, Abo Alenin participated in the inaugural Beni Hassan Art Symposium, organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. This event brought together 16 artists to create works inspired by the rich cultural and historical landscape of the Beni Hassan region. The symposium aimed to enhance Egypt's artistic movement by activating new venues for artistic expression and fostering connections between artists and local communities.

Abo Alenin's artistic approach blends abstraction and realism, with a particular emphasis on the psychological impact of colors. She selects hues that align with the themes and emotions she wishes to convey, often favoring bold, vibrant colors that reflect joy and reality. Her paintings strive to portray women in their spontaneity and happiness, offering non-stereotypical images that resonate with the lived experiences and emotions of women.
