Tarek Zabady, born on April 1, 1945, in Bahaira, Egypt, is a distinguished sculptor renowned for his innovative use of materials and profound artistic vision. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Alexandria University's Faculty of Fine Arts in 1966 and later pursued advanced studies in Italy, obtaining a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1979, equivalent to a Ph.D. in Egypt. Zabady's artistic journey is marked by a deep engagement with diverse materials, including wood, bronze, copper, and polyester, reflecting his belief in the artist's freedom to explore and master challenging mediums. Throughout his career, Zabady has held numerous solo exhibitions, notably at the Alexandria Atelier in 1976 and 1981, the Arts Academy in Rome in 1993, and the Akhenaton Hall in Zamalek in 1998. His works have also been featured in international venues, such as the 11th Alexandria Biennale in 1976 and exhibitions in Germany and Italy. In 2025, a comprehensive retrospective of his work was showcased at the Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum's "Ofoq" Gallery, highlighting 150 pieces spanning from the 1960s to the present, including 80 sculptures and 70 drawings.
