Egypt, b. 1967

Taher Abdel Azeem, born on June 8, 1967, in Giza, Egypt, is a distinguished artist and academic specializing in design and expressive arts. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1990 from the Department of Décor at Helwan University's Faculty of Fine Arts. He further pursued a Master's degree in 1997, focusing on cinematic special effects through the works of Steven Spielberg, and completed his PhD in 2001 with a comparative study on the costume design of historical films, particularly those depicting Cleopatra. Abdel Azeem's artistic oeuvre is characterized by vibrant depictions of Egyptian cultural motifs, notably the traditional "Tannoura" dance and elements of Fatimid civilization, including its Islamic heritage and architecture. His work often reflects a deep engagement with Egyptian folklore and history, rendered through expressive use of color and form. In addition to his exhibitions, he has contributed significantly to public art, creating murals and artworks for prominent locations like Cairo International Airport and Abdeen Palace. His contributions to art and design have been recognized with several awards, including the design of the emblem for Egypt's first presidential elections in 2005.
