Samir Abdel Latief Mohamed Shoushan (1953–2024) was an Egyptian sculptor renowned for his contributions to contemporary art. Born in Alexandria, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University in 1976. He furthered his studies with a Master's in Ancient Egyptian Art in 1981 and a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Arts in 1988. Shoushan also pursued specialized diplomas in electroplating and jewelry design in the United States between 1991 and 1992.

Throughout his career, Shoushan held several academic positions at Alexandria University, progressing from lecturer in 1976 to professor in 1988. He served as a visiting professor at Rochester University in New York during 1991–1992. His artistic journey was marked by numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at Nagy Gallery in 1988, the Spanish Cultural Center in 1990, and venues in New York and Washington D.C. in the early 1990s. His works are part of esteemed collections such as the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art in Cairo, the Medal Museum in Rome, and the Egyptian Opera House.

Shoushan's innovative approach to sculpture, particularly his use of electroplating techniques, earned him significant recognition. He was awarded the Medal Prize in Rome in 1983, the Beautification Prize for the Egyptian Opera House in 1990, and the Merit Prize from Rochester University in 1992. His legacy continues to influence the field of modern sculpture, reflecting a blend of traditional Egyptian artistry and contemporary technological advancements.
