Safia Al Qabbani

Egypt, b. 1967

Safia Al Qabbani (صافيا القباني), born in 1967 in Egypt, is a prominent Egyptian artist and designer recognized for her contributions to contemporary art and design in the region. Al Qabbani is known for her multidisciplinary approach, working across painting, graphic design, and interior design. Her artistic style often reflects a blend of traditional Egyptian motifs with modern aesthetics, exploring themes of cultural identity and heritage. She has played a significant role in the Egyptian art scene, both as a creator and as an advocate for the arts.

Al Qabbani has exhibited her work in several notable institutional venues within Egypt, including the Cairo Opera House and the Palace of Arts, which are among the country’s most prestigious cultural institutions. Her exhibitions have been well received, highlighting her innovative use of color and form. In addition to her artistic practice, she has held leadership positions in art education, notably serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University, further influencing the next generation of Egyptian artists and designers.

While Safia Al Qabbani’s works are highly regarded in institutional and academic circles, there is no public record of her works being sold at major international auction houses such as Christie’s, Sotheby’s, or Bonhams as of the latest available information. Her impact remains most significant within Egypt’s cultural and educational landscape, where she continues to shape the discourse on contemporary Egyptian art and design.
