Jordan

Riham Ghassib, born in Amman, Jordan, in 1949, is a distinguished painter renowned for her vibrant depictions of Jordanian landscapes and cultural scenes. She pursued English literature at Kansas State University in the United States from 1966 to 1970, during which she also took courses in painting. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for her artistic career, blending literary sensibilities with visual expression.

Since 1987, Ghassib has held ten solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows both regionally and internationally. Her work has been featured in esteemed venues such as the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, where she was highlighted as an "Artist of the Month" in March 2013. Additionally, her paintings have been showcased in exhibitions like the "Summer Show 2016" at Nabad Art Gallery in Amman.

Ghassib's artistic style is characterized by a deep appreciation for nature, often portraying the Jordanian countryside with a unique vision that captures its harmony and optimism. Her works, such as "Spring in Baqa'a" (1990), exemplify her ability to convey the beauty and simplicity of rural life through vivid color palettes and dynamic compositions. Ghassib continues to live and work in Amman, contributing significantly to the Jordanian art scene.
