Egypt

Randa Fakhry, born on December 26, 1975, in Cairo, is an esteemed Egyptian painter and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. She earned her Ph.D. in Painting in 2011 and has been a significant figure in Egypt's contemporary art scene.

Fakhry's work is characterized by mixed media on canvas, often incorporating elements like découpage to create textured, introspective pieces. Her art delves into themes of personal reflection, grief, and healing, as seen in her trilogy of exhibitions: "Al-Sardab" (The Cellar) in 2018, "Marafi’" (Harbours) in 2021, and "Tiryāq" (Elixir) in 2025. These exhibitions explore the depths of human emotion and resilience, with "Tiryāq" reflecting her personal journey through loss and recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout her career, Fakhry has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both locally and internationally. Notable showcases include her 2007 solo exhibition "Human Pulses" at the Egyptian Center for International Cultural Cooperation and her participation in the 44th Pioneers Exhibition at the Association of Fine Arts Lovers in 2004, where she received the second prize. Her works are held in esteemed private and public collections worldwide, underscoring her impact on the art world.
