Rabab AlNemer

Egypt, b. 1939

Rabab Nemer (1939–2025) was a distinguished Egyptian visual artist renowned for her evocative black-and-white compositions that explored the human condition through intricate tonal variations. Born in Alexandria, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alexandria University in 1963 and later achieved a professorship in arts from the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid in 1977. Throughout her career, Nemer held significant positions, including Director General of the General Administration of Fine Arts at the Cultural Palaces in Alexandria. Her work was showcased in numerous solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally, with notable shows in Italy, Spain, Kuwait, and Germany.
