Jordan

Raed Al-Dahleh, born on March 9, 1963, in Amman, Jordan, is a distinguished ceramic artist. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Baghdad University in 1985 and further honed his skills with a diploma in ceramic teaching methods from Rome in 1990. Al-Dahleh has been an active member of the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association and served as its president in 2006. Throughout his career, Al-Dahleh has participated in numerous exhibitions, both locally and internationally. Notably, he showcased his work at the Cairo Biennale in 1998, 2000, and 2006, and at the Bangladesh Biennale in 1998. His solo exhibitions include a 1998 show at the Spanish Cultural Center in Amman. In 2010, he was honored with the Best Jordanian Artwork Award from the University of Philadelphia. Al-Dahleh's artistic practice is deeply rooted in ceramics, where he explores themes of identity and heritage. His works, such as "Spring" (2016) and "Ground Cracks" (2007), reflect a profound engagement with form and texture. Beyond his studio practice, he has contributed to the arts community as an educator, teaching evening courses in ceramics and sculpture at the Institute of Fine Arts under the Ministry of Culture from 1991 to 2004.
