Iraq

Omar Al Shahabi, born in Iraq in 1983, is a contemporary artist known for his evocative paintings that explore complex human configurations, often depicting figures in motion, solitude, or within crowded spaces. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Baghdad University in 2007 and currently resides and works in Qatar.

Al Shahabi has held several solo exhibitions, including shows at Anima Gallery in Doha in 2019, the Qatar Society of Fine Arts in 2014, Foresight Art Gallery in Amman in 2013, the French Cultural Center in Damascus in 2007, and Broadway Gallery in Amman in 2005. His group exhibitions encompass participation in events at Al Markhiya Gallery in Doha in 2017 and 2018, Katara in Doha in 2014 and 2017, and the Iraqi Ministry of Culture in Baghdad in 2007.

Al Shahabi's work reflects a deep engagement with the human condition, capturing the nuances of movement and emotion through his distinctive artistic style.
