Nahla Asia, born in 1966 in Tulkarm, Palestine, is a Jordanian visual artist and writer. She earned a diploma in fine arts between 2012 and 2014 and has been an active member of the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association, serving as its secretary in 2021. Asia is also a founding member and president of the Alwan Association for Artistic Creativity since 2018. Asia's artistic practice spans impressionism and abstraction, with a distinctive style that reflects her deep connection to her homeland and its landscapes. Her work often explores themes of identity and belonging, as seen in her 2022 solo exhibition "Roots" at Jodar Artistry in Amman, which featured 46 oil paintings depicting various natural scenes intertwined with cultural motifs. ([jodar-artistry.com](https://jodar-artistry.com/events-exhibitions/roots-by-nahla-asia/?utm_source=openai)) Previously, her 2016 exhibition "Longing for Light" delved into the interplay of light and shadow, symbolizing hope and resilience. In addition to her visual art, Asia is an accomplished writer. She has published two short story collections: "Resting at the Stations of the Homeland" and "Echoes of Distant Souls." Her literary work has garnered recognition, including first-place awards in short story and novel writing competitions in Egypt in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
