Mukhled Al Mukhtar (1948–2017) was a prominent Iraqi artist recognized for his significant contributions to modern Iraqi art. Born in Baghdad, Al Mukhtar developed a distinctive visual language that bridged traditional Iraqi themes with contemporary artistic practices. His work spanned painting and sculpture, often reflecting the cultural and historical complexities of Iraq. Al Mukhtar’s style is noted for its expressive use of color and form, drawing inspiration from Mesopotamian heritage while engaging with modernist aesthetics.
