Mohammad Nagi (also spelled Mohamed Nagy, محمد ناجي), born in 1888 in Alexandria, Egypt, is widely recognized as a pioneering figure in modern Egyptian art. He was instrumental in shaping the Egyptian modernist movement, blending European academic techniques with local themes and cultural motifs. Nagi worked primarily in painting, with a focus on portraiture, landscapes, and scenes reflecting Egyptian daily life and heritage.
