Mohammad Al-Tarawy (August 10, 1956 – February 23, 2022) was an Egyptian artist renowned for his work in graphic arts and watercolor painting. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo in 1980, he received an honorary doctorate from the Technical Academy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 2005. Al-Tarawy was a member of several professional organizations, including the Syndicate of Fine Artists and the Journalists Syndicate. He served as a press illustrator for the Rosa Al-Youssef Foundation and was the editor-in-chief of "Fantasy" magazine. Throughout his career, Al-Tarawy held numerous solo exhibitions, such as "Egyptian Watercolors" at Al Shomoua Gallery in 1994 and "Visions of the Place" at Doroub Gallery in 2000. His work often explored themes of place and memory, with a particular focus on Egyptian landscapes and the role of women in society. In 2015, he presented "She" at the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, followed by "They" in 2017 and "Be You" in 2021.
