Mohamed Tamimi

Jordan

Mohamed Tamimi is a Jordanian visual artist whose work explores the intersection of contemporary painting and the creative economy. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in fine arts from Yarmouk University, followed by a doctorate from Minia University in Egypt. His doctoral thesis, titled "Contemporary Painting and the Creative Economy," is a pioneering study in the Arab world that examines the relationship between art and economics, with a focus on visual identity and digital transformations.

Beyond his artistic practice, Tamimi has contributed significantly to academia, teaching at various Jordanian and Arab universities, including the University of Jordan and SAE Institute Australia. He has played a pivotal role in developing art education curricula and mentoring new generations of artists. His contributions have been recognized with numerous local and international honors, notably the Royal Sitting Medal from the Hashemite Royal Court and the Golden Medal from the Presidential Palace in Tajikistan. Additionally, he has received commendations from UNESCO and the British Council.

Tamimi has also served as a member of various art juries and participated in numerous cultural conferences. He has been influential in managing the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts and has held the position of president of the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association, which he describes as "a home for every artist who believes that art is a message before it is a profession."
