Mohamed Kacimi (محمد القاسيمي), born in 1942 in Meknes, Morocco, and passing in 2003, was a prominent Moroccan painter recognized for his profound influence on contemporary North African art. Kacimi’s work is characterized by expressive abstraction, often employing mixed media and vibrant color palettes to explore themes of human suffering, spirituality, and social justice. His paintings frequently incorporate calligraphic elements and textured surfaces, reflecting both his Moroccan heritage and a universal humanism.
