Egypt

Mohamed Eid, born in Cairo in 1988, is an Egyptian artist specializing in painting, drawing, etching, and installation art. He earned his Ph.D. in Graphic Arts from Helwan University in 2020, with a thesis titled "The Dialectic of Presence and Absence in Graphic Arts." Currently, he serves as a lecturer in the Print Design section of the Faculty of Fine Arts.

Eid has an extensive exhibition history, both locally and internationally. Notable solo exhibitions include "Lover's Autumn" at Al-Bab Selim Hall in the Museum of Egyptian Modern Art in 2021. His participation in group exhibitions spans various venues, such as the 28th and 30th Youth Salons, where he received the Grand Prize for installation art. Internationally, his work has been showcased at the Egyptian Academy in Rome and the Varna International Printing Biennial in Bulgaria. His artworks are held in collections at the Egyptian Museum of Modern Art, the China Museum of Engraving, and institutions in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

Throughout his career, Eid has garnered numerous accolades, including the first prize in the 54th Vanguard Competition in 2014 and the Grand Prize in the Atyaf Competition's second session in 2019. His artistic practice is characterized by a deep exploration of themes related to presence and absence, often employing mixed media techniques to convey complex narratives.
