Egypt, b. 1928–2012

Mamdouh Ammar (1928–2012) was a prominent Egyptian painter and graphic artist, recognized for his significant contributions to modern Egyptian art. Born in Egypt, Ammar developed a distinctive visual language that blended elements of Egyptian heritage with modernist sensibilities. His work often explored themes rooted in local culture, folklore, and daily life, rendered through expressive brushwork and a vibrant palette.
