Maha Ibrahim

Egypt

Maha Ibrahim, born in Cairo in 1994, is an Egyptian artist known for her large-scale abstract expressionist paintings. She employs acrylics and mixed media on Egyptian cotton canvas to create textured layers that convey profound narratives. Her work often reflects on themes such as war, displacement, and social justice, incorporating symbols like scales and white feathers to represent balance and truth.

Since 2017, Ibrahim has exhibited her art across Egypt, North Africa, and the Middle East. Notable exhibitions include the Luxor International Art Symposium in 2016, the 7x7 Group Exhibition at CAB Gallery in Amman in 2017, and the "MODERNISM" group exhibition at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo in 2018. In 2023, she participated in the "Scale & Fate" group exhibition at Dai Gallery in Cairo and the "in·ter·con·nec·tion" group exhibition at MAD.KAT Gallery in Rancho Mirage, California. Her work "Shoes" (2019) was listed for sale at $2,500, and "Eternal Landscape 3" (2024) is available for $600.

Ibrahim studied at the Faculty of Art Education in Cairo and has been honing her painting and sculpting skills for over a decade. Her art serves as a medium to shed light on life's unnoticed and unheard voices, drawing inspiration from her Egyptian heritage and contemporary social issues.
