Jordan

Jordanian artist Kholoud Abu Hajla, born in 1984, is renowned for her evocative acrylic paintings that delve into the emotional and social dimensions of women. Her work is characterized by bold colors and expressive forms, often focusing on the human face, particularly women's, as a gateway to the soul. This thematic choice reflects her exploration of inner human experiences and the complexities of identity.

Abu Hajla's artistic journey began in 2001 at the University of Jordan's art studio, where she pursued a degree in English literature. Her passion for visual arts led her to become an active member of the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association. In 2013, she held her first solo exhibition, "Memory of the Eyes," at the association's headquarters in Amman. This exhibition showcased her focus on the human face and eyes, emphasizing their role in conveying deep emotional states. She has also participated in various group exhibitions, including the "Yasmina" exhibition at Dar Al-Saraya Gallery in Madaba.

Abu Hajla's work has been noted for its ability to capture the struggles and aspirations of women, using art as a medium to express complex emotional narratives. Her paintings serve as a bridge between the artist and the viewer, inviting introspection and dialogue about the human condition.
