Jordan

Jihad Al Amiri is a Jordanian artist renowned for his work in printmaking and painting, often exploring the interplay between visual art and Arabic poetry. His artistic journey is deeply influenced by his Jordanian heritage and the cultural landscapes he has encountered.

Al Amiri has held several solo exhibitions, including "Tattoo in Water" at Orient Gallery in Amman (2014), "Andalusian Curtain" at Anima Gallery in Doha (2013), and "Two Poets Alive" at the Euro-Arab Foundation in Granada (2012). His group exhibitions feature participation in "Aesthetics" at Orient Gallery (2019) and the 30th Anniversary Celebration at Darat Al Funun in Amman (2018). His works are part of esteemed collections such as the Khalid Shoman Collection at Darat Al Funun, the Ramzi and Saeda Dalloul Art Foundation in Beirut, and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.

Al Amiri's art is characterized by a fusion of traditional and contemporary elements, reflecting his deep connection to Arabic poetry and cultural motifs. His time in Granada, Spain, where he earned a doctorate in fine arts, profoundly influenced his work, leading to exhibitions like "Two Poets Alive," inspired by the poetry of Federico García Lorca and Mahmoud Darwish. Through his art, Al Amiri continues to bridge cultural narratives, offering a visual dialogue between past and present.
