Jordan, b. 1960

Ibrahim Abu Al Rub, born in 1949 in the village of Yalu near Jerusalem, is a Palestinian-Jordanian artist renowned for his expressive and large-scale works. Following the 1967 Nakba, he relocated to Jordan and later pursued formal art education in Egypt, earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a Diploma in Educational Studies from Helwan University in 1976. He further obtained a Master's degree in 1982, focusing on contemporary painting in Jordan, and a Ph.D. in 1987, exploring the influence of Islamic art on contemporary Arab abstraction. Abu Al Rub's artistic journey spans over four decades, during which he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions both locally and internationally.
