Hassan Meer (b. 1972, Muscat, Oman) is a leading contemporary Omani artist known for his multidisciplinary practice encompassing painting, installation, video, and photography. Meer’s work often explores themes of memory, spirituality, and the intersection of tradition and modernity, drawing on his personal experiences and the broader cultural landscape of Oman. His installations frequently incorporate everyday objects and traditional motifs, reflecting on the rapid transformation of Omani society.

Meer has exhibited widely in prominent institutions and international biennials. Notably, his work has been featured at the Sharjah Biennial, the Singapore Biennale, and the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo. He is also the founder of The Circle, an independent art initiative in Muscat that has played a significant role in nurturing contemporary art in Oman.
