Iraq

Hassan Ibrahim, born in Baghdad in 1962, is a prominent Iraqi visual artist known for his contributions to contemporary art. He completed his education at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1983. Ibrahim's artistic journey began with his participation in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition in 1983, honoring the works of Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró. His early career was marked by involvement in significant exhibitions, including the First Youth Exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad in 1984, where he received a certificate of appreciation, and the First International Baghdad Biennale in 1986.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Ibrahim's work was showcased in various international venues. He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition in Sharjah, UAE, in 1990, and in Amman, Jordan, in 1991. In 1994, he was awarded the Special Creativity Prize at the Babylon Contemporary Fine Festival in Iraq. His exhibitions extended to Tunisia in 1996, 1998, and 2000, reflecting his growing international presence. In 2002, he took part in the "A Ray of Light" exhibition at Dar Al-Anda in Amman.

In recent years, Ibrahim has remained active in the art scene. In 2018, he held a solo exhibition titled "Memory Trace" at Hiwar Hall in Baghdad. He also participated in the 12th Al-Wasti Festival of Fine Art in Baghdad and the "Arab Women - The Art of Words" exhibition in Istanbul. A dedicated member of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association and the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, Ibrahim continues to live and work in Baghdad, contributing significantly to the Iraqi art community.
