Hassan Heshmat (حسن حشمت, 1920–2006) was a prominent Egyptian sculptor known for his significant contributions to modern Egyptian art. Born in Cairo, Heshmat graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1953 and became renowned for his expressive sculptures in bronze, stone, and wood. His works often reflect Egyptian social life and folklore, blending traditional motifs with modernist sensibilities. Heshmat’s style is characterized by dynamic forms and a keen attention to the human figure, capturing both movement and emotion.

Throughout his career, Heshmat participated in numerous exhibitions, both in Egypt and internationally. His sculptures have been displayed at the Cairo Opera House and are part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art in Cairo. Heshmat’s work has also been featured in major group exhibitions representing Egyptian art abroad, contributing to the global recognition of modern Egyptian sculpture.
