Jordan, b. 1964

Ghassan Abulaban, born in Bethlehem in 1964, is a distinguished Jordanian artist renowned for his evocative figurative and abstract paintings. After relocating to Amman in 1967, he pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing at Yarmouk University, graduating in 1988. Currently, Abulaban imparts his expertise as a lecturer at the University of Jordan and offers private instruction in drawing and painting.

Abulaban's artistic journey is deeply influenced by his fascination with humanity and music, which is evident in his harmonious compositions that capture the delicate mystery of musical rhythms. His work has been showcased in numerous solo exhibitions, notably at Orient Gallery in Amman, with shows in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2017. Internationally, his art has been featured in the United States, including exhibitions at Mark Gallery in Boston and the Attleboro Museum Center for the Arts in Massachusetts.

Throughout his career, Abulaban has received several accolades, such as the First Prize in Don Quixote’s Painting Contest at the Instituto Cervantes in Amman in 1999. His works are held in private collections across the United States, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, reflecting his significant impact on the art world.
