About the work

Viewed through the narrow cleft of a rocky canyon, the ornate rose-pink facade of Petra's Treasury rises in dramatic relief, its carved columns and pediments glowing warmly against deep shadow. Two small figures at the base underscore the monumental scale of this ancient Nabataean monument.
