Fateh AlMoudarres (1922–1999) was a pioneering Syrian painter and one of the most influential figures in modern Arab art. Born in Aleppo, Syria, AlMoudarres is celebrated for his distinctive approach that fused elements of Surrealism and Symbolism with motifs drawn from Syrian folklore, religious iconography, and ancient civilizations. His work spans painting, drawing, and printmaking, often characterized by dreamlike compositions, expressive figures, and a nuanced use of color and texture.
