Saudi Arabia

Faisal Samra, born in 1956 in Bahrain to Saudi parents, is a pioneering conceptual artist in the Middle East. He employs a diverse range of mediums, including digital photography, painting, sculpture, video, and performance, to explore existential themes centered around the human figure. His work is characterized by spontaneity, dynamism, and secrecy, challenging conventional artistic representations. Samra studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, graduating in 1980.
