Eizo Sakata, born in 1954 in Toyohashi, Japan, is an artist residing in Paris whose practice encompasses painting, land art, and performance. He is renowned for his "active passivity" approach, immersing himself in diverse natural and cultural contexts to create site-specific works that often highlight ecological concerns. Water frequently serves as a central element in his art, exemplified by his ongoing project since 2013, which involves creating drawings using seawater and Indian ink.
