Jordan, b. 1952

Dodi Tabbaa, born in 1952 in Quetta, Pakistan, is a Jordanian artist renowned for her innovative approach to contemporary art. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from Lahore, Pakistan, and pursued a postgraduate diploma in printmaking, textile design, and typography in the United Kingdom. Her artistic journey is marked by a continuous exploration of various mediums, including painting, printmaking, textile design, and photography, reflecting a commitment to experimentation and originality.

Tabbaa's work has been showcased in numerous prestigious exhibitions worldwide. Notable among these are her participation in the Sixth Asian Biennial in Dhaka, Bangladesh (1993), the opening show at Darat al Funun in Amman, Jordan (1995), and the Sharjah Biennale in the UAE (2001). Her art has also been featured in the "Breaking the Veils" exhibition, which traveled to various international venues, including the Clinton Library in Arkansas, USA (2008). In 2013, she held a solo exhibition titled "The Pixel Lightbox Society" at Jacaranda Images Gallery in Amman, Jordan.

Tabbaa's works are part of several esteemed public collections, such as the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman, the Bangladesh National Gallery in Dhaka, and the French Cultural Centre in Amman. Her art is also held in private collections across the globe, including in Dubai, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Thailand, Finland, Bahrain, Norway, the UK, the USA, France, Switzerland, and many other countries. Through her diverse body of work, Dodi Tabbaa continues to contribute significantly to the contemporary art scene, both in Jordan and internationally.
