Iraq

Dia al-Azzawi, born in Baghdad in 1939, is a prominent Iraqi painter and sculptor whose work is deeply influenced by his studies in archaeology and fine arts. His artistic journey began with an exploration of ancient Mesopotamian themes, which he skillfully integrated into modern art forms. Azzawi's style is characterized by a fusion of traditional Iraqi motifs with contemporary techniques, reflecting a profound connection to his cultural heritage.
