About the work

Two simplified, ancient-looking figures stand side by side in quiet proximity, their forms emerging from a richly textured surface of layered earthy browns, rusts, and dark tones. The heavily worked mixed media ground gives the piece a weathered, archaeological quality, as if the figures have been unearthed from stone.
