Egypt

Ayman Kadry, born on May 1, 1978, in Qena, Egypt, is a distinguished graphic artist and academic. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts at South Valley University in 2001, followed by a Master's in 2010 and a Ph.D. in 2014 from Helwan University, focusing on the pioneers of relief prints in the Arab world during the twentieth century. Kadry's artistic practice is deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Upper Egypt, particularly the city of Luxor. His works often depict the landscapes and daily life of the region, employing a variety of mediums including colored pencils, inks, and watercolors. His graduation project, "Resurrection and Immortality" (2001), is a monumental pencil drawing measuring 360 cm by 244 cm, reflecting his profound engagement with themes of heritage and continuity. Throughout his career, Kadry has participated in numerous exhibitions both locally and internationally. Notable among these are the Luxor International Painting Symposium, the Asilah International Cultural Festival in Morocco, and the Mahdia International Printmaking Symposium in Tunisia. He has also held several solo exhibitions, including "Kemet: Land of Egypt" at Cordoba Gallery in Cairo (2018) and "From Thebes to Asilah" at Hakim Gallery in Asilah, Morocco (2017).
