Anwar Sonia (أنور سونيا), born in 1948 in Oman, is widely recognized as a pioneering figure in Omani modern art. Often referred to as the "Father of Omani Modern Art," Sonia’s career spans several decades, during which he has played a crucial role in shaping the contemporary art scene in Oman. Working primarily in painting, his oeuvre encompasses a variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic, and watercolor, and is characterized by a vibrant palette and expressive brushwork.
