Anmar Hussain

Iraq

Anmar Kamel Hussein, born on September 22, 1985, in the Kadhimiya district of Baghdad, Iraq, is a poet and visual artist. Raised in a family deeply immersed in the arts—his mother a poet and his father, Kamel Hussein, a renowned painter—Anmar's creative inclinations were nurtured from an early age. He pursued his passion academically, earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a focus on painting from the University of Babylon.

Anmar's literary contributions include his poetry collection titled "وأُصفّف الموت في أهدابي" ("And I Arrange Death in My Eyelashes"), which delves into themes of pain and existential reflection. His works have been featured in various Iraqi and international publications, and some of his poems have been translated into English, French, and Spanish, broadening his reach to a global audience.

In addition to his literary endeavors, Anmar has actively participated in numerous poetry festivals, cultural salons, and artistic events across Iraq. His multifaceted talents also extend to writing short stories and screenplays, some of which have been adapted into theatrical performances and short films. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the Creative Literary Forum within the Union of Writers and Authors in Babylon, contributing significantly to the region's cultural landscape.
