Ahmad Nawar (أحمد نوار), born in 1945 in Egypt, is a prominent contemporary artist recognized for his significant contributions to modern Egyptian art. Nawar’s practice spans painting, graphic arts, and mixed media, often exploring themes of heritage, identity, and the intersection of tradition with modernity. His works are characterized by a dynamic use of color and form, reflecting both abstract and figurative tendencies, and he is noted for integrating elements of Egyptian visual culture into his compositions.

Nawar has exhibited extensively in Egypt and internationally, with notable institutional exhibitions at the Cairo Opera House and the Egyptian Academy in Rome. He has also participated in major biennials and collective shows, including the Venice Biennale, representing Egypt.
