Weaam Elmasry

Weaam Elmasry (b. 1976) is an Egyptian visual artist and academic based in Cairo. She holds a PhD in Media Arts from Helwan University and works across painting, photography, animation and installation, often in figurative mixed media. Her work frequently explores the relationships and inequalities between men and women in the region. A multi-award-winning artist with more than seventy exhibitions, her works are held in collections including the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Museum of Egyptian Modern Art.
