Nawal Al Sa'adoon, born in Baghdad in 1957, is an Iraqi artist whose work spans painting, printmaking, and installation art. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest in 1980 and has since developed a distinctive style that blends expressionism and abstraction. Her art often delves into themes of sorrow, displacement, and the human condition, reflecting her personal experiences and the broader socio-political landscape of Iraq.

Throughout her career, Al Sa'adoon has exhibited extensively across the Middle East and Europe. Notable exhibitions include a solo show in Damascus titled "For the Last Time in Damascus," which showcased works from her graduation project in 1980 up to 2023. She has also held exhibitions in Yemen, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Sharjah. In 2002, she established her own art studio in the old city of Damascus, where she organized numerous exhibitions and cultural events. Her works have been recognized for their emotional depth and technical proficiency, earning her membership in the International Association of Art.

Al Sa'adoon's market presence is marked by her participation in various international art fairs and biennials. While specific auction records are not readily available, her consistent exhibition history and the critical acclaim she has received suggest a respected position in the art market. Currently residing in Denmark, she continues to create art that resonates with audiences worldwide, exploring complex themes through her unique visual language.
