Nasr Abdel Aziz Eleyan

Palestine

Nasr Abdel Aziz Eleyan (b. 1941) is a Palestinian painter known for figurative work rooted in Palestinian rural life and tradition. Born in the village of az-Zakariyya and raised in a refugee camp near Jericho, he studied fine arts and film in Moscow, Cairo and London. He has long been based in Amman, where he has taught fine arts at the University of Jordan, and his paintings distil scenes of Palestinian farming life into simple geometric lines that balance harmony and form.
