Mouna Bassili Sehnaoui (منى بسِّيلي صحنوي), born in 1945 in Alexandria, Egypt to Lebanese parents, is a prominent Lebanese visual artist and designer recognized for her vibrant paintings, graphic design, and public art projects. Sehnaoui’s work is characterized by a distinctive use of color and stylized forms, often drawing inspiration from Lebanese history, Byzantine iconography, and Middle Eastern motifs. Her practice spans painting, illustration, and large-scale murals, reflecting both personal and collective narratives from Lebanon and the wider region.
Sehnaoui has exhibited extensively in Lebanon and internationally, with solo and group exhibitions at major institutions such as the Sursock Museum in Beirut and the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris.
