Khalid El Bekay

Khalid El Bekay (b. 1966, Casablanca) is a Moroccan artist who lives and works between Barcelona and Casablanca. He trained at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan and at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, specialising in engraving. Working largely through delicate paper collage on wood, he brings together Mediterranean and Moroccan visual traditions in pared-down still lifes. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections including the Royal Palace of Morocco and the Girona Watercolour Museum.
