Khalid Al-Naeb, born in 1942 in Basra, Iraq, is a distinguished artist known for his contributions to modern Iraqi art. He completed his primary and secondary education in Basra before graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1966. Al-Naeb's artistic journey began with his participation in the third exhibition of the "Innovators Group" in Baghdad in 1967, followed by subsequent exhibitions with the group and the Iraqi Fine Artists Association. His first solo exhibition took place in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 1970. In 1976 and 1977, he held solo exhibitions at the Iraqi National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad, showcasing a significant body of work. In 1979, Al-Naeb relocated to West Germany, where he continued to develop his artistic practice. He held a solo exhibition in Doha, Qatar, in 1982, and participated in the Baghdad International Festival for Fine Art in 1986. Throughout his career, Al-Naeb has been recognized for his dynamic compositions that blend elements of Eastern and Western artistic traditions, reflecting his experiences across different cultures. He remains an active member of the Iraqi Fine Artists Association and continues to live and work between Iraq and Germany.
