El Dessouki Fahmi (1938–2024) was an Egyptian painter, writer, and translator whose multifaceted career spanned several decades. He graduated from the Department of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo in 1963 and later earned a postgraduate diploma in Egyptology from Cairo University in 1973. Fahmi began his professional journey as an archaeological painter with the Egyptian Antiquities Organization before dedicating himself fully to art and literature in the early 1990s.
